Diffraction Glasses
Each student is given a pair of diffraction glasses. These glasses break down wave bands of visible light into individual colors that resemble a rainbow.

Polarizers
The students are shown linear polarizers that block “linear” portions of light. We discuss unpolarized light versus polarized light. Students learn about the wave properties of light.

Holograms

The students participate in an activity where they create their own puesdo-holograms out of plastic film.
Motors

The students create their own DC Electric Motors out of copper wire, a magnet, and battery. This one is tricky.
e over m Experiment Demo

The e/m experiment shoots electrons inside a gas chamber under constant magnetic fields. Electrons moving in constant magnetic fields move in uniform circular motion. Many school choose this experiment because it is such a beaut
Diffusion Cloud Chamber Demo

The diffusion cloud chamber demo uses evaporated alcohol cooled with ice to create a cloud. There is a harmless radioactive material introduced to the cloud chamber that allows us to visualize alpha and beta particles shooting through the clouds.
