Congratulations Deepsana! Deepsana Shahi will be attending The University of Arizona next year!  She will be entering in their Ph.D. program with the hopes of researching theoretical nuclear physics.

Deepsana was the ideal undergraduate student.  She did a wealth of interesting projects during her time at Adelphi including research in Professor Rao’s lab doing experimental optics, two external REU programs, and even a finance internship!  As she rolled into her senior year, she moved into a hands-on research project at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where she worked on MicroBooNE Production Data and ProtoDUNE Cold Electronics Testing.  She was the first Adelphi student to do a thesis project there, I am now calling it BNL-Adelphi Collaboration Thesis (BACT).   I worked with her as her Adelphi adviser for this project; so even though she never worked in my lab, I feel she is part of the family!

Good Luck Deepsana.  Go visit Saguaro National Park, it is my favorite place in Arizona.  https://www.nps.gov/sagu/index.htm
