Physics Students Everywhere! It is time to start applying for REUs for the summer of 2020. Woo Hoo! Here are some thoughts! APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NOW!

Thought #1: Juan is an amazing guy! Here is your one stop shop for REU info: https://physics.mnstate.edu/cabanela/research/reulist.php

BTW: I don’t know who Juan is, other than he is a great guy! Thank you Juan!

Here are six other things to consider:

1. We have had students have great projects at AMES and BNL. Apply here: https://science.osti.gov/wdts/suli

2. I did my REU at Lehigh University and I highly recommend them. https://physics.cas2.lehigh.edu/reu

3. We have an Adelphi university fellowship that will become available shortly. Stay tuned. 2 awards for physics will be given this year. https://honors.adelphi.edu/research/summer-research-scholarships/

4. My research lab has a single award this year. Normally given to a student already on the team, but not always. Please contact me directly.

5. It’s not about what you do or where you go. It’s that you do something professional. There are so many non-REU opportunities (internships, etc) everywhere. You just need to “lean in” and see what is out there.

6. Don’t procrastinate, Apply NOW! In a few weeks you will have a ton of homework and projects due.
