People might wonder why I do this job. Is it the academic freedom? Is it the opportunity to enrich student lives? Is it the pay? (It’s definitely not the pay.) All of those are good things, but I tell you I do it for the Lasagna! The all time greatest student gift ever! A homemade Lasagna (with cooking instructions) for me and my family to chow down. It was amazing. Thank you Carissa!

Dinner was so easy tonight. Both Colleen and I were happy we didn’t have to cook or clean.

Step 1: Put Lasagna in oven

Step 2: Eat Lasagna

Step 3: Clean the 3 plates and 3 forks.

Woo Hoo!

I was recently eating breakfast with Carissa and her family (her family tagged along to the AAPT meeting). They were appalled when I told them that while Lasagna was one of my favorite foods, I hadn’t had real “Italian Lasagna”. A few days later Carissa made me Lasagna. IT WAS AMAZING! Rosie went for seconds – nuff said!

The Lasagna in question

Me with Carissa and her family in 2018 at Research day. Carissa’s sister is also a alumni of Adelphi.
Sorry Jim Davis, but this gif describes dinner tonight.

  1. […] Carissa Giuliano (’21 and soon to be Master ’22) is AWESOME! I often tell people if they want to know how I feel about Carissa they should do a quick search of this blog. She has definitely been a big BIG part of the department and our research team since day one. In fact she won outstanding first year student at Adelphi! And she kept winning from there! She was our Physics Club President from 2019-2020 and one amazing student. And by far my favorite Carissa post was when she made us Lasagna. […]
