Back to Business! If you followed this blog before the coronavirus outbreak you would know that one of the things that our team at Adelphi focuses on is making physics available to anyone who is interested. In the last 24-ish hours, I have heard three amazing stories of women in physics who have been ultimately connected to Adelphi.
Keanna Jardine
Keanna Jardine (Class of 2016), is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in planetary science at the University of Central Florida. She was featured in an article here. This is just amazing “Last spring, Jardine became a NASA fellow, earning a Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) grant.”
Woo Hoo Keanna! I am super proud of you. You have done such an amazing job in graduate school. I keep watching your career with PRIDE! Keep going!
Zoya Shafique
Zoya Shafique (Class of 2020), is currently a senior at Adelphi. This student is putting together an awesome project for her science communication course. This is a new exciting course I am co-teaching with Professor Barbara Cunningham. She has created an amazing new blog that focuses on female physics success story. Check it out here:
Welcome to The Physics Enquirer!
Oh yeah, Zoya is a first generation American from Pakistan.
Danielle Sofferman
Danielle Sofferman (Class of 2013) is just about to defend her PhD thesis. I could write about her but Zoya did it better:
The Recipe for Success: Hard Work and Passion
Danielle is awesome!
