I am very excited that Adelphi University Physics Department has joined the “PhysTEC Regional Network of Southeast New York”. PhysTEC is an organization of over 300 institutions dedicated to improving and promoting physics teacher education.” Taken from PhysTEC website. The network was created by a grant won by the Stony Brook Physics Education Team. The goal, roughly, is to pull resources together to improve the footprint of HS physics education in the region. We had our kick off meeting tonight.

I love our STEP students (HS physics teachers in training) and proud of our team. I can’t wait to work with our partners to further improve our program. Don’t believe I am a fan? Search this website for “Carissa”.
Being a HS science teacher is one of the most important careers one can do. Especially in an age when large swaths of the population are giving up on science and reason. And its a surprisingly awesome career.
