We are excited to announce that Professor Thomas Brown from the University of Rochester will be speaking to the Adelphi Community April 14th at noon. He will give a talk titled “What is Optics (and why is it so important and interesting)?” In addition to speaking about optics, we are very excited to introduce to the Adelphi community to our plans for our new partnership with the University of Rochester and new 4+1 programs. In addition to being a distinguished full professor at The University of Rochester, Professor Brown is also a Fellow of the Optical Society of America. You can read a short biography of his work here.

Adelphi Alumnus Tara Pena ’17 is currently a graduate student at UR studying for her PhD at UR in Electrical Engineering. Listen to what she has to say about her research and her time at Adelphi.

In addition, we have a strong personal connection with The University of Rochester. Professor Sean Bentley got his Ph.D. from there in Professor Robert Boyd’s group.
