I am having a very hard time keeping up with switching back and forth between virtual and in-person meeting spaces. I try to have an open door policy. Students can come and visit me at any time. And they do. I really like an open door policy.

So the way I have always managed that was to give my students a time frame when I can be found. Then they come see me. I keep working on my own stuff unless there is a student there with questions. Then I give the student priority. So even if I lose track of time, the students keep me centered!

But now I have a bunch of students, committees, etc that want to meet with me virtually. I put them into the calendar of course. But then folks stop by to chat and I loose track of time. 🙁 I actually missed an online meeting earlier this week. Luckily we were able to meet later, but it was embarrassing. 🙁

I need a way virtual for someone to bop me on my head. (I always turn my ringer on my phone off because it is distracting.)
