As part of my first-year seminar class, the students were encouraged to take ACTION for their final project.  A lot of them chose to make surveys.  None of them were official and scientific but we learned a lot and had a lot of fun. 

A few groups tried to increase happiness on campus by getting students to draw fun pictures. There was a fun Turning test. And even monte-carlo calculations of how a traffic light works. The power point presentations were great!
