My father, Jim Wright, passed away Sunday morning. He had a heart attack from complications due to his emphysema.  Needless to say, it has been a tough weekend.

Here is his obituary.  https://www.schmidtfuneralhomeerie.com/obituaries/James-H-Wright?obId=47263359

My father loved outdoor sports.  For better or worse my childhood was one fishing adventure to another.  From birth to 8 years old, I spent a large fraction of my time fishing Lake Erie on my dad’s boat – which he built from scratch with the funds he got from inventing a fix to his company’s manufacturing process.  I still remember driving my toy cars around the boat.

We fell on hard times and the unfortunately the boat didn’t last.  But we fished every fishing hole from New York to Ohio and down into Allegany National Forest.

We played a lot of baseball too.  I had a baseball game, he had a softball game, or he was coaching his little league team.

I am really happy that I went home last weekend to spend time with him and bring him a few of his favorite meals (double cheeseburger with mustard from Dairy Queen).

Unbelievably, my Aunt Donna also passed away the same day.  Actually, Aunt Donna is my father’s aunt.   https://www.schmidtfuneralhomeerie.com/obituaries/Donna-Wright?obId=47261219

This winter stinks.

Just handful of pictures I had laying around.

Great life story. So sorry he left you. Fishing, baseball, Lake Erie, hard times– sounds like America to me.
