This week I am at the APS Global summit.  What a great time!

Student Update

Kylie Goldade (’26) presented her poster on “Creating a Planetarium Show for the Cradle of Aviation Catholic Health Sky Theater”.  This is on her internship at the Cradle of Aviation.

Social Media Update

I am going up the escalator this morning and I squinting at woman coming down the escalator.  I am thinking “I know this person.”  “How do I know this person?”  So, I am really bad with names and having to meet someone whose name I should know but don’t (e.g., past friend) is literally one of the most terrifying things for me – because I have definitely forgotten their name.  Btw, this happens to me at leas three times a day at one of these conferences.

But then it hit me, I didn’t know this person at all.  She was @Particleclara – a tiktok famous social media physics super star.  Then as I looked around, I realized she was being filmed by three or four cameras.  HAHA!  How fun is that?

I definitely want to invite her to speak at an event in the future.  Her Tiktoks on CERN are amazing.

My Stuff

I have been busy!  Lots of networking conversations promoting Cosmic Pathways!

Tonight, I was honored to be chosen as a panelist to speak at the “PhysTEC at 25 Celebration and Panel Discussion”.  I can’t believe the choose me.  I love supporting past, current, and future physics teachers.  The PhysTEC team and their mission is wonderful!  And I was happy to talk about our current outreach efforts/program and promote our activities.

As I was getting in a drink, someone said to me something to the effect of, “great job, you earned a break.”  I laughed and was like I could talk about PhysTEC all day long.  So true!  I love my research team.  I love the PhysTEC people!  I love the community!  I love how effective people are.

Honestly, the best part of the panel was the conversations I had after it.  I had this great career mentoring conversation with a graduate student and other cool discussions about other projects that are happening around the world.  I can’t believe I do this for a living!

Then I went to the APS Fed meeting.  Oh boy talk about the next phase of my life.  I am so excited about joining that team too.
