Today I was at Lehman High school in the Bronx for Lab for Kids.  It was a very special visit as I visited lab for kids alum Rena Beban’s physics and Physical science classes. It’s great to see our former students out in the world doing amazing things.  Ms Beban is well loved by her student students. I was glowing from ear to ear with pride. You are amazing Rena Beban – I am super proud!

One of the things that I often like to do when I visit high schools is talk up our teachers when I talk to the administrators and students.   I tried, but Ms Beban had done such a good job talking me up that I didn’t get the chance.  The students were literally clapping at the beginning of every class.  Talk about feeling welcomed. There was so much positive energy in the room – it was amazing. Even the administrators were excited!

Lehman High School is really interesting. I literally past under it on my way to work everyday. It sits over the Hutchinson Parkway – how many high schools double as a bridge? And there are six high schools in one location! I was worried that would be confusing, it strangely wasn’t.

The students were great too! The students asked me to come and teach at their school. They were positive, fun, and interesting. Something to think about for sure.

Here are pictures from the day. Half were taken by Rena Beban and half by me.
