For the final in my Environmental Science class the students were encouraged to do an innovation project with solar panels.  Maker space project all the way!  Of course, the catch here is that my students in the class (mostly) hadn’t had circuits classes in the past.  So not only were they designing and building, but also had to learn a lot of the fundamentals (what is voltage? What is a diode? How to read a data sheet?).  It’s been fun.

The first project has been completed.  It’s a solar powered fan that you can wear as at a hat!  Its going to make going to the US Open Tennis tournament this summer doable.  HeHe.  I loved that they all signed it.

A special thanks to Dr Daniel Gysbers. He filled in for me for one of the classes.
