Congratulations to Carissa Giuliano for winning a Scholarship from the Society of Physics Students (SPS) National Office! She won the SPS Future Teacher Scholarship. Amazing job!

Carissa has many roles in the department. She conducts research with me on developing educational tools to explain how we smell (she won a poster award at the AAPT meeting this winter), she is the out going president of the adelphi physics club, and she teaches recitation (i.e., discussion sessions) for the Physics I and Physics II classes at Adelphi. Carissa also won outstanding first year student a few years ago at Adelphi. Hear Carissa, Ravyn, and I on a recent podcast about higher education.

Carissa also makes a mean lasagna.

Obviously her career goal is to become a high school physics teacher.

Super proud!
