We had an awesome physics club meeting on Friday. Adelphi Emeritus Professor Henry Ahner came and spoke to us about two different topics:

  • Introduction to Mathematica
  • Engineering Failures

Both topics were super interesting, as is usual when Professor Ahner speaks. The Mathematica topic was really interesting. We have just purchased some copies of Mathematica for the department. Its a programming language that is highly favored by our new faculty member Kevin Liang and will be used with increasing intensity over the next few years.

This is the best kind of event that our physics club does. There was a whole community of people there asking questions and talking together. It was a perfect Friday afternoon. The only problem was that I had to leave early to get to my class.

A special thank you to Professor Ahner and Professor Bentley for setting this amazing event up.
