Today started out rough. Every muscle in my left shoulder ached. I went to Spa Castle on Saturday and got blasted multiple times by the water cannon that is supposed to massage you. While it did feel good at the time, my shoulder really hurts now. It is the morning of my 47th birthday. Ugh, I am old.

So I started off a little grumpy and sore. My 9am class was nice, but it was all math. And then I had to do all the double checking on an exam I was handing back. Always a little stressful for a professor.

But then Katie ran into my office and said “Happy Birthday”

Still Grumpy

Two minutes later Brianna came in and said “Happy Brithday”

A little less Grumpy.

Then Kylie came in and yelled “Happy Birthday” many times

Regular Grumpy.

The Dante came in and yelled “Happy Birthday”

Now I am just slower than normal.

Then came Matt, Kyle, Zahin with a cake. Now I was starting to smile but still slow.

Then the all department came in and sung me “Happy Birthday”. I actually got out of my desk, had a peice of cake and started smiling and enjoying conversation. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

This discussion went on for a while and there was lots of laughter. Then Professor Bentley and I had a great discussion. By then I was fully happy!

I checked my email! Someone who I have been in contact with over the years, got a hold of me to ask my opinion on something new he developed. Cool! (1) it was awesome. (2) I felt like a VIP!

Another group of students stopped by to wish my Happy Birthday and crack a bunch of jokes. It was wonderful!

And then I got an email that said one of my articles was accepted for publication.

Now, I am happy and smiling!! YAY!!

I LOVE THAT MY TEAM MAKES ME HAPPY! It is wonderful to be part of such an awesome team!
