I just spent all day grading the children’s book project for my physics 1 course. The project was to select a BIG IDEA from class and make a children’s book for 3rd graders on the subject (or at least part of a book). There were some amazing gems!

Note I delibraly left out author’s (student’s) names if you want to be added let me know.

Most of the students did Newton’s Laws or vectors vs scalars. And lots of people made some subtle mistakes on them. I don’t know if I will do this assignment again. If I do though I would, provide examples and choose the topics for the students.
