The Thorlabs Adelphi STEM party has finally come to an end. It was an absolutely amazing two days hanging out with Thorlabs, Brookhaven National Lab, all the high school students, teachers, and our physics department. We had so much fun! And we learned a ton of science.

Last night we had our industry board meeting and today the college students learned about OCT imagining!  Super fun!

I want to take a few minutes and thank Thorlabs for being so committed to education in the physical sciences. In one of my classes this semester we’ve been spending a lot of time doing back of the envelope calculations and yesterday I just jotted down a calculation about how much money Thorlabs is spending on education and community.  It’s a lot of money. I am overwhelmed with how amazing it feels to work with a company that really cares!  GO THORLABS!

September came to an end with the Thorlabs Adelphi STEM Party.  October will come to an end with the Sigma Pi Sigma physics Congress in Denver, CO.  Guess what?  Thorlabs will be there too!  You can’t slow these folks down.

I’ve been around for a while and I can remember when Thorlabs was a new company.  They didn’t have the global impact that they have now.  But from day one they were committed to students. I felt like this company got me.  I remember when I got a T-shirt from the company from my boss.  I was so happy.

Thorlabs just keeps growing.  It’s great to see that their commitment to students and the community are still so strong.  .

Go Thorlabs and THANK YOU!
