A friend sent me this article! We discussing group dynamics in the classroom.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0378873324000303

The analysis was intense and I only skimmed through it. The conclusions hit hard though:

  • “pre-existing status characteristics influence group work dynamics”
  • “group work acts as another mechanism through which disadvantaged students in education get more disadvantaged, while those who are already successful accumulate even more advantages.”
  • “We found little support for the thesis that smaller groups allow more even participation of all students “

WOW!
