Cosmic Pathways Chicago is on October 17th! I am excited. But also this is the time when there is a little bit of panic. Time to bring everything together and dot my tees and cross my Is.
Road Trip Time!
So, I just hopped in my car and headed to Chicago! For better or worse, the thing about having a four-hour daily commute is that it gives you a different prospective on distance. I have a family event this weekend in the Midwest, what’s just a couple of hours more driving and a few extra days in Chicago?
Wednesday’s Visit at the University of Chicago Medical Center!
A special thanks goes to Professor Heather Whitney for setting up an amazing day at the University of Chicago! While working on my not so stealthy sabbatical project, I got to meet and hang out with some amazing medical physicists in the Chicago area. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and interact with Professors Samuel G. Armato (UChicago), Hyejoo Kang (Loyola), Patrick J La Riviere (UChicago), and Heather Whitney (UChicago). (More on that front when I get back to my desk and have some time to process some video.)
I got a Whitney lab mug! I never thought about making a mug for a research group! That is wonderful idea!
Zeenat Baig at the Bean in Chicago!
The day ended by meeting with one of my favorite former students Zeenat Baig! We met for a snack, a chat, and an interview in Millennial Park. (They are getting set up for Lollapalooza and there was a game at Solder’s field so downtown was a little crazy. Again, more on that front when I get back to my desk and have some time to process some video.)
