It was not an emergency situation, thankfully.
This morning, my mother is getting a new knee, right as we speak. She had the procedure of the morning 6:30. It was a hospital I had never been to before. And we got LOST – BIG TIME! (In fact, I had taken my mother to all of the pre-surgical visits and we were sent all over Connecticut – a wildly different location each time.)
I got to mom’s house at 5:45. Ontime, but a little later than expected. I put the address into Google Maps and hit go. It sent me a weird way. But it still made sense. So off I went. The first 30 minutes was uneventful.
Then when we got to Litchfield, the directions sent me left. My spidy sense said we should go right, but Google maps said left. I was hurrying and didn’t think, so I followed the maps.
The road kept narrowing until we were finally on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, literally in the middle of the woods, going down a giant steep hill with an old timie one lane bridge on the bottom. When I got to the location. The maps app said we had to stop and finish walking through the woods to get to the hospital. Obviously, this was incorrect. But we were in the middle of no where and there was no service. Ugh. I had to take my head out of the app and navigate the old fashion way, with signs and common sense.
We got there about 30 minutes late. There was no issue at all.
Don’t believe your MAPS APP!
